Projects in progress or under review
Uganda and Tanzania
Several drinking water projects in Uganda (3 schools) and Tanzania (1 school) show a similar challenge: the available water quantities are not sufficient to reliably supply the facilities with water throughout the year. Drilling or water pipes to water ponds or small rivers nearby would be a prerequisite for aqua pura to become active with a drinking water treatment plant.
We are in contact with other organizations to possibly arrange financing for the water supply.
Kenya
In 2005, our partner organization Vihda installed a first Waterflow in the district hospital in Maragua, Kenya. Dr. Victorio Torres wrote in his letter of thanks that the money saved on bottled water would now be available for medication.
In 2023, Vihda developed a master plan for the hospital. The County Government financed the expansion to almost 200 beds. More and more people are visiting the hospital today. A second Waterflow system is currently being installed to ensure the necessary drinking water. The experience with the first Waterflow shows that with good service, the systems can provide several years of flawless service.
Cameroon
The organization Dai in Cameroon is planning to supply an entire village with drinking water. In accordance with our standard procedure, clarifications are currently underway for a first sub-project as a pilot. The population has already been actively involved in laying the water pipes. The successful completion of this pilot project is a prerequisite for further steps.
Senegal
We have already equipped a health center in Senegal with Hope 87. Due to the positive experiences, a second project is being implemented in another health center in the district. The material has now arrived in Senegal. We benefit from the experience of the local project manager from the first project.
Uganda
The St Edward Primary School in the Buikwe District in Uganda, a private school, wants to supply 450 people with drinking water. The water from the public supply is contaminated. The project manager on site is the founder of a solar energy start-up with technical expertise. In the meantime, the preliminary clarifications have been completed and the material has arrived in Uganda
